šŸŽ® My Top 5 Steam Fest Horror Demos šŸŽ®

I played a ton of horror demos during Steam Next Fest, and these were my absolute favourites!

Each one left a strong impression here’s my ranking with scores!

1ļøāƒ£CPA:REPORTS BOUSY – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10/10)

šŸ•¹ļøGame synposis : The CPA initial report follows a vlogger exploring an abandoned house from a first-person perspective. As the vlogger delves deeper into the house, they uncover a dark secret the house is hiding a paranormal entity linked to the tragic past of its former owners.

šŸ•¹ļø Why I Loved It: I absolutely loved the demo of this game! The eerie atmosphere of the abandoned house, combined with the emotional depth of the creature born from a strong friendship, kept me on edge throughout. The steampunk setting adds a unique twist, while the survival mechanics made the constant danger feel real and intense. The tension and fear were so immersive, and it quickly became my top pick of Steam Next Fest. I can't wait for the full game to explore more of the story and face even more thrilling moments!

I found this game so scary because it brilliantly builds tension through its eerie atmosphere and sense of isolation. The abandoned house is haunting on its own, but the idea of being stalked by a paranormal entity connected to such a tragic past makes the fear feel personal and real. The first-person perspective put me directly in the vlogger's shoes, amplifying the dread as I explored each dark, decaying room.

2ļøāƒ£ Midnight Mayhem – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (9.5/10)

šŸŽØGame synopisis :

1 monster vs 13 humans co cop horror game.

Be prepared for anything as the monsters abilities keep evolving and changing!

The monster player has limited control over their next ability so they will also have to think quickly to make the best use of them!

You have various improvised weapons and gadgets at your disposal to locate and defend from the monster.

Use the right tool at the right time to shift the tides!

šŸŽØ Standout Feature: I discovered Midnight MayhemĀ while browsing through the Steam Next Fest demos, and I’m so glad I did! I played it with a few friends, and we had an absolute blast. The game’s standout feature is its asymmetric multiplayer setup, where you can either play as the terrifying invisible monster with ever-evolving abilities or as one of the survivors trying to escape. It creates such an intense and exciting scene each round felt completely different, depending on if we were hunting or hiding. The tension of being hunted by an unseen monster, while trying to outsmart and survive, made for some heart pounding moments. We loved the teamwork required as survivors and the thrill of controlling the monster, using its evolving powers to track and take down the team. It’s definitely best played with friends, and I can’t wait to dive back in for more chaos!

3ļøāƒ£ The cecil:The journey begins – ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (9/10)

āš”ļøGame synopsis:

A romantic getaway takes a turn for the worst for John and Sarah as their dream vacation at The Cecil Hotel turns into a nightmare. John wakes up in a dark cell, realizing Sarah is missing. Now, he must find and save her from the horrors that haunt the hotel before it’s too late.

āš”ļø Gameplay Vibes:The cecil:The journey begins demo was an chilling and suspenseful experience that kept me hooked from start to finish. The story which begins with John and Sarah heading to the eerie and mysterious Cecil Hotel for a romantic getaway, quickly takes a dark turn. After falling asleep, John wakes up locked in a dark cell, and the tension ramps up as he scrambles to escape and find Sarah before it’s too late. The atmosphere was thick with dread, reminding me of the classic survival horror vibes from Resident EvilĀ and Amnesia. The eerie hotel and darkly lit corridors kept me on edge the entire time.

The demo had me solving puzzles, carefully managing resources, and peeking around corners, wondering what lurked in the shadows. The way the tension built up and the mystery unfolded was awesome, and I found myself constantly on alert, trying to figure out the next step while fearing what might happen next. As a demo, it was a fantastic teaser that left me craving more, and I can't wait to dive into the full release to uncover the rest of the hotel's dark secrets!

4ļøāƒ£ gummy nightmares – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (8.5/10)

🧩Game synopsis:

gummy nightmaresĀ Ā is a gripping journey into a mysterious world, where you play as a little boy who wakes up in an eerie amusement park with no memory of how he got there. As you explore the park, you’ll solve puzzles and uncover lost memories, all while trying to survive the sinister plushie robots that lurk around every corner.

🧩 What Hooked Me: The game’s mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, and survival horror kept me on edge, as I used weapons, set traps, and found hideouts to evade the creepy, relentless enemies. The tension builds as you slowly piece together the truth behind the park and your forgotten past. A truly unsettling experience!

What really hooked me about gummy nightmares was the atmosphere and the constant sense of danger. The mystery of waking up in an unfamiliar amusement park with no memory, combined with the need to solve puzzles and avoid terrifying plushie robots, kept me fully immersed. The game was sick and those creepy animatronic enemies and the sense of being hunted gave off serious poppy playtimeĀ vibes, and I loved every minute of it. The way the game mixes survival mechanics, eerie exploration, definitely a must-play for anyone who loves that blend of horror and adventure!

5ļøāƒ£ The bunker : ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (7/10)

šŸƒGame synopsis: The only way out is through.

What started as a quiet night camping with friends has become a found-footage nightmare. Military jets roar overhead. A distant siren cuts through the silence. Drawn to a seemingly abandoned bunker for safety, the doors slam shut behind you. Now, you are trapped in the dark, forced to navigate the decaying corridors, uncover the truth behind a long-forgotten experiment, and survive the horrors lurking within.

šŸƒ what i liked : The bunkerĀ offers a chilling experience trapped in an abandoned bunker, with you alone inside while your friends are locked out and something sinister locked in. The PSX, VHS-style found-footage aesthetic really sets the scene, creating a nostalgic yet unsettling atmosphere of analogue terror. The psychological horror elements keep you on edge as you unravel the mystery behind the bunker’s secrets and try to survive the horrors within. However, while the game’s story and environment are intriguing, I found myself wishing there was a bit more to experience.

The tension didn’t quite reach the level of true horror I was hoping for, as the gameplay felt a bit slow at times. Still, it’s a solid experience for fans of psychological horror and found-footage styles, and I appreciated the creepy vibe, even if I wanted a little more fear to sink in.
